Akiva earned a BA in Religious Studies from Brown University, an MA in Jewish Education from Yeshiva University and rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Sulam Yaakov in Jerusalem. He and his wife Tamar live in Pardes Hanna, Israel with their four children.
